Punggol homeowners can pay property tax through GIRO in monthly instalments of up to 12 months or as one yearly payment. Start with the official IRAS property tax GIRO page and follow the route for individual taxpayers.
Monthly property tax deductions are scheduled for the fifth of the month; a weekend or public-holiday deduction moves to the next working day. Check your confirmed plan for the actual amounts rather than dividing the bill yourself and assuming that is the schedule.
To review or edit a plan, log in to myTax Portal and use Account, View GIRO Plan, View, then Edit. After any change, check the updated plan and keep enough funds in the selected account for its deductions.

Choose a supported application route
IRAS lists eGIRO through myTax Portal for participating banks, with additional bank-portal and AXS routes. Its page also explains when a GIRO application form is needed.
Check the current bank list before choosing a route. Have the property tax account details ready so you can confirm that the application relates to your Punggol home.

Read the plan after setup
Review the tax account, bank account and deduction dates displayed after setup. Keep the confirmation where you can find it when checking the first deduction.
If you manage several household payments, label this reminder Property Tax. That makes it easier to distinguish it from a mortgage instalment or an estate-charge deduction.

Check a failed deduction promptly
IRAS retries an unsuccessful deduction on the twenty-first, subject to the next-working-day rule. Four failed deductions across two consecutive months lead to cancellation of the arrangement.
Check your tax balance and follow the official payment or reactivation instructions. Keep a note of the failed date so you can match it to the bank transaction record.

Review changes before closing an account
If you change bank accounts, review the official instructions and the updated GIRO plan before relying on the new arrangement. Save the confirmation of the change.
For a family sharing the cost, agree how contributions will reach the account used for payment. Put that arrangement in the household budget rather than relying on a last-minute reminder.
