If you find a suspected missing pet in Punggol, secure it safely if you can and contact the AVS Animal Response Centre at 1800-476-1600. Give the location and description. If approaching would put you or the animal at risk, keep your distance and ask for guidance.
A found cat or dog near a Punggol HDB block, park connector or shopping entrance needs an owner check. AVS recommends a veterinary microchip scan; a chip registered with AVS can help trace the owner. A social-media photograph alone does not establish who owns the animal.
Keep children and your own pets away while arranging help. Note the block or postal code, time, collar and distinctive markings. Share a clear found-pet notice through local channels while keeping a record of whom you contacted.

Record the actual finding location
Photograph the animal from a comfortable distance and note the precise place you first saw it. If it moves, record the new location separately rather than replacing the original detail.
A message naming all of Punggol gives an owner little direction. A block number, nearby entrance or recognisable path junction is much easier to follow.

Arrange a microchip check
AVS advises informing animal groups such as SPCA and taking the pet to a veterinary clinic for a microchip scan. Call the clinic first to discuss safe handling and its ability to assist.
Do not attempt to force an unfamiliar animal into a vehicle. Explain its behaviour when asking for help, including whether it approaches people or retreats from them.

Reach the owner carefully
AVS recommends neighbourhood flyers and online notices, and contacting owners whose missing-pet advertisements match. Seek permission for notices on managed premises.
Before handing over the animal, ask the claimant for identifying information or previous photographs. If the account is unclear, seek guidance from AVS rather than arranging a hurried handover.

Keep the handover organised
Choose an agreed place and time with the person assisting you. Record the handover privately so family members know the animal has reached its owner or the responsible organisation.
Update the original notice once the outcome is confirmed. Mark the animal as reunited only when that has actually happened; otherwise describe the current arrangement accurately.
