Punggol parents should register a baby born in Singapore through LifeSG birth registration within 42 days of the birth. The checked service guidance lists a fee of $18 per child and issuance of a digital birth certificate.
For newborn birth registration from your Punggol home, prepare the child’s name and birth information, both parents’ details where applicable, and the payment information requested by the service. One parent starts as the main applicant; the other confirms the entered details where applicable.
There is no separate Punggol birth-registration process. Use the official national service, check the information carefully and save the submission record. Optional Baby Bonus and library-membership applications depend on the child’s eligibility.

Agree the details before starting
Decide the intended spelling of your child’s name before entering it. Put the documents you need beside you and check names and identification numbers against those records.
A tired household can avoid repeated corrections by agreeing who will enter the information and who will check it. Leave enough uninterrupted time to review the application rather than rushing between other newborn tasks.

Choose the applicable login route
LifeSG explains different routes according to the parents’ status. If one parent is a Singapore citizen, permanent resident or FIN holder, that parent starts with Singpass. If neither is, either may start with a valid email on the website, not the app.
Read the service’s instructions for your own circumstances. Do not borrow another person’s login or assume that a friend’s application steps apply to your family.

Review before submitting
Compare the completed details with the records you prepared. Check the child’s name, the parents’ information and any documents the service requests before confirming.
Keep a short private note of the submission date and reference. This makes a follow-up easier without circulating identification documents in family chat groups.

Track the next administrative step
Once registration is complete, follow the official notification about the digital certificate. Registration and keeping a usable copy of the certificate are separate tasks.
If you cannot complete the form or are approaching the deadline with an unresolved issue, use the official LifeSG or ICA help route promptly. Do not assume that saving an unfinished draft is the same as completing registration.
