Before buying a controlled household appliance for your Punggol home, verify its SAFETY Mark using the Consumer Product Safety Office’s official instructions. Search the register by model number or the eight-digit registration number on the mark.
For a Punggol appliance purchase, check that the registration has not expired and that the result matches the product you are buying. Seeing a logo in an advertisement is only the starting point; the identifying details must agree.
The SAFETY Mark requirement applies to Singapore’s Controlled Goods categories. Products outside those categories do not require the mark, so a missing mark should not automatically be treated as a breach without checking what the product is.

Identify the exact item
Ask for the brand, model and a readable photograph of the mark before making a decision. Keep the model information for the particular option you are buying, especially when one listing offers several variants.
A seller’s photograph of another model will not resolve your check. Put the listing, quoted model and registration number together so you can compare them without switching between several unrelated messages.

Use the official register
Follow the official page’s link to the Register of Registered Controlled Goods. Enter the model or registration number and inspect the returned details and validity.
If the search result does not match, clarify the discrepancy before purchase. Do not substitute a similar model’s registration or assume that a well-known brand means every product in its range is registered.

Check the item delivered
Compare the delivered model with the one you checked before ordering. Keep photographs of the identifying label and the order confirmation as part of your household appliance record.
This helps with a straightforward delivery question: did you receive the item you agreed to buy? Resolve a mismatch with the seller rather than trying to make the original search result fit a different appliance.

Raise a concern with specific evidence
CPSO’s guidance provides a contact route for suspected advertising or supply of Controlled Goods without the required mark. Useful details include the product type, brand or model, seller, location or webpage and photographs.
Keep your description factual and focused on the product. A registration check does not replace the manufacturer’s use instructions or the separate need to check an applicable recall notice.
