If your child withdraws from kindergarten mid-month, ECDA says the full KiFAS subsidy for that month is available when the minimum one-day attendance requirement is met and the full month’s programme fee has been paid. This concerns an otherwise eligible child’s withdrawal month.
Kindergarten children are not eligible for pro-rated KiFAS subsidies. ECDA’s guidance says a full month’s fee must be paid for KiFAS eligibility, so Punggol parents should not calculate the subsidy simply by dividing it across attendance days.
Check the kindergarten’s final bill, recorded attendance and withdrawal date together. The subsidy rule is separate from the centre’s notice period, deposit terms and other charges.

CHAPTER 1 OF 4
Check that the scheme is KiFAS
The ECDA kindergarten withdrawal FAQ is specifically about KiFAS. Do not apply a childcare subsidy calculation to a kindergarten bill.
Ask the centre to identify the scheme on your child’s record if you are unsure. This matters particularly when comparing a kindergarten programme with full-day childcare.
CHAPTER 2 OF 4
What does the final month’s bill show?
Ask the kindergarten to explain the programme fee charged for the withdrawal month and how the subsidy is reflected. Confirm whether the full month’s programme fee is being paid.
Keep the invoice and attendance information with the withdrawal correspondence. If the figures are unclear, request an explanation of the actual account rather than relying on another family’s example.
CHAPTER 3 OF 4
Does a mid-month departure change notice terms?
The KiFAS FAQ does not determine the kindergarten’s withdrawal notice or deposit conditions. Read the enrolment agreement and current centre instructions for those details.
Confirm the notice received date, last attendance date and effective withdrawal date. These may be relevant to different parts of the final account.
CHAPTER 4 OF 4
What should I resolve before leaving?
Ask the centre to confirm any remaining fee balance and the subsidy treatment for the month. If there is a specific eligibility question, clarify it with the centre or ECDA.
Keep a record of the final outcome and plan the next schooling arrangement separately. A mid-month move should be organised around both the child’s care needs and the confirmed financial terms.
Information checked on 11 October 2026. Follow ECDA’s current scheme instructions and the guidance given for your child’s application.
