For a morning visit to Punggol Waterway Park, look up Sunrise Bridge on the eastern side of the park. For an evening visit, Jewel Bridge is the landmark NParks highlights for sunset viewing. They are different bridges, so save the correct map pin before making plans.
If you are searching for Punggol sunrise or sunset photo spots, match the bridge to the time of day and check the weather and daylight times for your date. A bridge’s name or reputation cannot guarantee a colourful sky. A pleasant walk is a worthwhile plan even when clouds hide the sun.
For a short family outing, choose one bridge and a nearby walking section. Decide where you will arrive, how far you will continue and how you will return. Do not assume that Sunrise Bridge and Jewel Bridge are adjacent stops that can both fit comfortably into a brief visit.

Choose the experience first
A sunrise outing asks your family to leave early; a sunset outing asks you to plan the journey home as daylight fades. Choose the one that suits your group’s energy and schedule. A tired toddler or rushed departure can matter more than the photograph.
You can also visit either bridge in ordinary daylight to enjoy the setting. Looking at architecture and reflections does not depend on catching a particular minute.

Recognise the right bridge
NParks describes Jewel Bridge by its dome-shaped structure and places Sunrise Bridge on the park’s eastern side. Use those details together with the map, rather than relying on a general photograph labelled ‘Punggol bridge’.
Tell friends the full bridge name and agree on which end to meet. A landmark can still have two approaches, and standing on opposite banks can make a simple meeting unnecessarily confusing.

Build a route around one landmark
Choose a starting point and make the bridge the main stop. Then add a short out-and-back section if time and weather allow. Check the route from your station, carpark or home to that particular bridge.
A map measurement should include the approach and return, not merely the bridge itself. With a stroller or mobility device, check the actual surfaces and gradients rather than assuming that every shortcut is suitable.

Plan photographs around other users
Step aside when stopping to frame a picture and keep the crossing clear. Children should remain with the adults, and bags should not block the route. A photograph does not require climbing barriers or entering planting areas.
Try one wide view, one architectural detail and one reflection. This gives you a small set of different images without keeping everyone in the same place for a long time.

Make weather part of the decision
Check the forecast close to departure. If rain or thunder makes an exposed walk unsuitable, postpone it or choose a different activity. Keep enough time to return without racing against worsening conditions.
For evening visits, identify the return route before you start. Bring what your group needs for comfort and avoid depending on finding an unverified open shop beside the landmark.

Enjoy what you can actually observe
Ask children how the bridge shape changes from different viewpoints, or how reflections change when the water moves. Older students can distinguish what they saw from what they inferred.
A cloudy visit can still produce interesting photographs and conversation. The aim is to notice the place, not to declare the outing unsuccessful because the sky looked different from an online image.
