Preparing for an Additional Mathematics WA or common test in one week is different from preparing for prelims or the final SEC. The tested scope is usually narrower, so the student should use that specificity. The objective is to make the tested methods retrievable, repair recent errors and practise enough variation that the school paper does not feel unfamiliar.
A one-week plan should not become a compressed full-syllabus revision programme. Use the school’s announced scope, current worksheets and recent corrections first, then add selected mixed or timed questions where they are useful.

Use questions that look different from the school worksheet while testing the same method. This protects against overfitting to familiar layouts.

Remove chapter labels and combine the tested topics. The student should identify the method independently.
Day 6: short timed simulation
Use a test-length or half-test-length set under realistic timing. Record blank starts, slow questions and technical errors.
Day 7: light correction and retrieval
Review only the active risk list. Avoid a large new worksheet the night before the test.
Use school materials first
School worksheets and recent tests are the best first source because they reflect what has actually been taught. Assessment books can provide changed-surface practice after the core method is stable.
Do not use full SEC papers blindly
A WA may test only a small part of the syllabus. Full papers can add untaught or irrelevant material and reduce efficiency.
