Remove the Scaffold
A scaffold should have an exit condition. When the student can perform before the cue arrives, shorten or remove it and retest on a fresh task.
Do Not Confuse Access With Permanent Easier Work
A shorter passage or simpler sentence can help reveal the concept, but the tutor should scale the learner back towards the shared standard once control improves.
