Archive Notice: This page preserves an eduKate tuition page published for Novena in May 2015. It is not a current Novena tuition-location page and should not be used to infer present-day class locations, schedules, tutor staffing or programme availability.

What this page represented in 2015
The original page was part of an early eduKate expansion strategy that published broad location pages for families across Singapore. The Novena article listed Primary and Secondary tuition, PSLE preparation and older programme labels such as GCE O-Level, Integrated Programme and IB support.
It also described tutors through their former junior-college backgrounds and used a catalogue of subjects as the main reason to enquire.
That makes the page useful historical evidence of how tuition was marketed in 2015—but not a reliable description of eduKate today.
The old reader job: “Can eduKate teach my child near Novena?”
The page’s original purpose was to help local families find relevant teaching. A parent searching “tuition Novena” wanted to know whether eduKate offered relevant school subjects and examination preparation.
That reader need was legitimate. What failed over time was the page’s shelf life: location claims, course labels and tutor descriptions can become obsolete even while the URL remains indexed for years.
The current repair keeps the historical answer visible while preventing a 2015 promise from masquerading as a 2026 service claim.
Courses listed on the original page
The 2015 article advertised the following broad course families:
- Primary English;
- Primary Mathematics;
- Primary Science;
- English Creative Writing;
- PSLE English, Mathematics and Science preparation;
- Secondary English;
- Elementary Mathematics;
- Additional Mathematics;
- support framed around older GCE O-Level, IP, IB, SAP and DSA terminology.
This list is preserved as historical programme evidence only. It is not a current Novena timetable.
Why tutor-school labels are not enough
The original page emphasised that tutors had studied at institutions such as Raffles Junior College, Saint Andrew’s Junior College, Tampines Junior College and Anglo-Chinese Junior College.
Academic background can be useful context, but it does not by itself establish teaching quality. A strong tutor must also be able to:
- identify what a student does not understand;
- explain the idea at the learner’s current level;
- choose appropriate practice;
- notice recurring error patterns;
- give actionable feedback;
- adjust when the first explanation fails;
- help the student become increasingly independent.
This is one way the educational standard behind eduKate has become more precise since the original page was written.
Historical photographs from the original Novena page
The photographs below were part of the original page. They are preserved as evidence of the teaching period rather than presented as photographs of a current Novena centre.

What is still useful for parents today?
The subject names have changed less than the decision parents face. A family still needs to ask whether tuition solves a specific learning problem.
- Is the child missing a prerequisite?
- Does current schoolwork make sense during lessons but disappear later?
- Is practice happening without useful feedback?
- Is the student overloaded rather than under-supported?
- Would a smaller teaching setting reveal questions that remain hidden in a larger class?
Those questions are more informative than the prestige label of a tutor’s former school or a long list of examinations.
Why this page should not compete with later Novena subject pages
eduKatePunggol later published subject-specific location pages, including Novena Science material. Those later pages can own their narrower subject jobs when they are upgraded in sequence.
This 2015 page no longer needs to compete for every combination of Novena + English + Math + Science + PSLE + Secondary tuition. Its role is historical provenance.
Current eduKatePunggol structure
Current eduKatePunggol public information describes small-group tuition with a maximum of three students, 1.5-hour lessons, provided materials and between-lesson WhatsApp support.
Current subject coverage includes Primary 1–6 English and Mathematics, Primary 3–6 Science, Secondary 1–4 English and Mathematics, and Secondary 3–4 Additional Mathematics.
