ActiveSG Punggol 2027/2028 | Sengkang Hockey Holiday Camp, 25–27 November and SHP60 Credits

Children riding scooters in the open public area of One Punggol community hub.

ActiveSG Sengkang Hockey Holiday Camp for Punggol families, 2027/2028 guide: SportSG’s real three-day camp runs at Sengkang Hockey Pitch 1 on 25–27 November 2026, 8:30am–10am. It welcomes children aged 5–16, with a published S$54 member fee or S$77 non-member fee. SHP60 Credits may offset eligible costs, and at least five participants are required for the programme to commence.

The official ActiveSG Hockey School Holiday Programme page says registration began on 1 November 2026 at noon, essential equipment is provided and temporary hockey sticks must be returned. Sengkang Hockey Stadium is listed at 57 Anchorvale Road, Singapore 544964. This is a structured introductory course, not an ActiveSG Cup match at Delta or a class automatically offered at Punggol Sport Centre.

  • Camp: ActiveSG Hockey Academy three-day School Holiday Programme
  • Sengkang date: 25–27 November 2026; 8:30–10am each morning
  • Venue: Sengkang Hockey Pitch 1; confirm the actual course meeting point
  • Age: 5–16 years old, 2026 birth years 2010–2021
  • Fee: S$54 for members or S$77 for non-members, subject to current checkout
  • Credits: SHP60 may offset qualifying costs under its rules
  • Minimum: 5 registered participants needed to commence
  • 2027–2028: later dates, prices and vacancies require fresh official confirmation

This is a way for a child to discover the fundamentals of a new sport over three short mornings. Families should assess the real venue, timing and child’s interest rather than assume a camp guarantees competitive selection.

Definition lock: this is a three-day coaching camp

ActiveSG Hockey Academy offers a short School Holiday Programme, not a guaranteed place in a competition or a regular ten-week season. Its November 2026 camp introduces hockey fundamentals through structured supervised sport.

Families should use the actual Sengkang course product. A public court booking, school CCA enrolment or attendance at the ActiveSG Cup does not automatically register a child for this camp.

The practical choice begins with the child’s age, interest, available dates and the genuine MyActiveSG+ course record.

The Sengkang camp is 25–27 November

SportSG’s published programme lists Sengkang Hockey Pitch 1 on 25, 26 and 27 November 2026, running 8:30am to 10am each day. That is three mornings, not an all-day holiday childcare arrangement.

The total advertised instructional window is four and a half hours over three days. Families should read any subsequent organiser changes and understand arrival and collection duties.

A future 2027 or 2028 camp requires a new official schedule; these three dates are specifically 2026.

The venue is Sengkang Hockey Pitch 1

The course identifies Sengkang Hockey Pitch 1; SportSG’s Hockey Academy also lists Sengkang Hockey Stadium at 57 Anchorvale Road, Singapore 544964, as a recognised learning location.

This is in Sengkang, not Punggol Sport Centre at 11 Sentul Crescent. A driver directed to the newer Punggol building could miss the child’s start time.

Confirm the pitch entrance and gathering point from the actual organiser before travel.

The camp is for ages five to sixteen

The official 2026 table identifies children aged five to sixteen, corresponding to birth years 2010–2021 for that edition. Within this wide range, individual coaching groups can have different readiness and experience.

Parents should not assume a five-year-old completes the same technical tasks as an older teenager. The instructor needs to adapt the activity in a supervised environment.

Use the child’s correct birth year and current course eligibility rather than borrow a sibling’s profile.

S$54 is the published member fee

SportSG lists S$54 for an ActiveSG member for the three-day hockey School Holiday Programme in this specific 2026 edition. The displayed cost is not a per-hour public pitch rental price.

A family comparing sport programmes should consider the included coaching and equipment arrangements, as well as travel and the actual paid product.

Do not extend the S$54 rate automatically to later years or every holiday camp.

S$77 is the published non-member fee

The published non-member rate is S$77 for the same camp format, under the relevant participant and account conditions. This is not proof the event requires a new adult membership purchase for every family.

The proper price follows the legitimate booking product and the child’s real account status. Other camps can use different rate tables.

Read the live checkout before paying and never ask an unofficial seller to change residency or membership details.

SHP60 Credits may offset costs

SportSG’s hockey holiday page says SHP60 Credits can be used to offset the cost. That statement concerns eligible credits under the programme conditions, not a cash gift to every child.

A parent should check the real balance, eligibility and permitted amount at MyActiveSG+ checkout. The page does not establish that all households receive the full fee in credits.

Use only the official payment flow and avoid anyone asking for account passwords to redeem credits privately.

Registration opened 1 November 2026

The official Hockey Academy page lists registration commencing at noon on 1 November 2026. As of 6 November that opening date has passed, but a programme can still become full or close.

Parents should not interpret an advertised opening as proof of current capacity. A valid registration requires acceptance and an actual booking confirmation.

Check MyActiveSG+ for the selected Sengkang course before making other arrangements.

Five participants are needed to start

The published School Holiday Programme states that a minimum of five registered participants is required for the course to commence. This can affect a family even after it finds a suitable date.

An under-subscribed session may be handled under SportSG’s actual administrative process. No blog can promise that the course will take place regardless of minimum enrolment.

Retain organiser communications and do not assume a public centre’s normal opening hours guarantee the camp.

SportSG provides essential equipment

The course information says essential hockey equipment is provided during the programme. This reduces the need for a new learner to purchase every item before trying the sport.

Families should still ask about suitable sports attire and any personal equipment requirements. A general statement about essentials does not mean every optional item or take-home product is included.

Use the current course checklist instead of buying an expensive stick from a recommendation aimed at competitive adults.

Hockey-stick loans must be returned

SportSG specifically describes temporary loans of hockey sticks for the particular programme, with the sticks returned after the session. The loan is not a complimentary souvenir or a rental for personal use elsewhere.

A child should be told how to care for equipment and return it to the proper staff. A misplaced borrowed item may be subject to actual organiser procedures.

Respecting shared equipment helps keep introductory sport affordable and available to other beginners.

Recommended clothing is simple

SportSG advises a dri-fit shirt, sports shorts or skirt, sports socks and running or turf shoes. This is practical clothing for the advertised hockey camp rather than a requirement to buy a full club uniform.

The right shoes and clothes should suit the child and surface. Long hair, loose accessories and unrelated gear may require attention under staff safety instructions.

Read the actual preparation message shortly before the course because a venue can have specific conditions.

A first-time learner can focus on safe stick handling

Hockey uses a stick and ball, so knowing how to move the equipment safely around teammates matters before advanced tactics. A beginner can benefit from simple demonstrations, controlled grip and awareness of others.

A child should not imitate a professional power shot in a crowded group on the first day. A qualified instructor will select suitable progression.

The aim is a welcoming first experience that builds confidence without encouraging unnecessary contact or risk.

Ball control can be introduced gradually

Early practice may involve guiding a stationary ball and understanding how it moves when pushed. Children of different ages can find these tasks challenging for different reasons.

Some may have played floorball or football already, while others are entirely new to stick-based sport. Previous experience can help but does not remove the need to learn hockey rules.

Measure success by genuine progress and enjoyment, not a promise of elite performance after three mornings.

Passing creates a chance to cooperate

A controlled pass can help children learn to look for a teammate, judge distance and move the ball without excessive force. It is a useful way to introduce cooperative sport.

The coach can adapt practice according to the actual group and playing surface. A child who misses a pass should receive constructive feedback rather than humiliation.

Good early sporting experiences encourage learning beyond the short camp.

Receiving a pass takes patience

Receiving a moving ball involves timing, control and awareness of other players. Beginners may need to practise the skill slowly before joining a game.

The correct technique belongs to qualified instruction and may differ by the specific task. A parent should not demand that the learner master it immediately.

Ask what the child discovered and enjoyed rather than treating every error as failure.

Goalkeeping clinics are possible special activities

SportSG describes specialised clinics such as goalkeeper training and skills showcases among the School Holiday Programme experiences. These are examples of the offering, not proof every child receives an entire goalkeeper lesson on a particular day.

The instructor and actual programme plan determine appropriate activities and equipment. A newcomer should not be placed in a specialist role without preparation.

Do not promise a named elite guest coach or specific equipment unless the organiser announces it.

Three days do not guarantee team selection

A short introduction can help a child decide whether hockey is enjoyable. It does not automatically enrol someone in a school CCA, the ActiveSG Cup or an invite-only development centre.

Competitive team selection uses separate eligibility and skill criteria; a holiday camp booking is a different product. No payment creates a guaranteed future sporting career.

Choose the camp as a learning opportunity on its own merits.

The regular Hockey Academy is a longer route

ActiveSG Hockey Academy also offers ten-week seasonal programmes for U12 and U16 participants at named venues, with their own fees and registration windows.

A child who enjoys the November taster might later consider a season. The regular programme is not included in the three-day camp price.

Ask the child before committing to a longer timetable, and check live seasonal availability.

ActiveSG Cup Hockey is a different event

The national Cup’s 2026 12U hockey matches are scheduled at Delta Hockey Pitch on specific October and November dates, not automatically at Sengkang’s holiday camp.

A family should distinguish a youth competition roster from beginner coaching. Completing a camp is not proof the child has been accepted into an ongoing Cup.

Use the real Cup rules and the correct venue if the child later explores competition.

School CCAs have separate enrolment

Some schools may offer hockey through their own co-curricular arrangements, while Strategic Partnership CCAs and multi-school teams have other eligibility and training conditions.

The school teacher determines current school programme access. A commercial or national holiday course cannot promise that a school accepts the child for its CCA.

Parents should ask the actual school about available sports and schedules.

Sengkang and Punggol are different venues

Punggol Sport Centre began phased operations in October 2026, while the named holiday hockey session is at Sengkang Hockey Pitch 1. Both serve northeast residents but are separate facilities.

A new complex can be appealing, yet its public gym and courts do not create a hockey camp that the organiser has not listed. Correct location prevents wasted travel.

Save the exact course confirmation and pitch address before 25 November.

A child may need a responsible adult before class

A holiday sports camp provides supervision during the designated programme, not unlimited childcare before or after its ninety-minute session. Younger participants may need assistance checking in.

Parents should know when the course begins and ends, which adult is responsible outside those times and where the group gathers.

A clear collection plan reduces unnecessary stress for children unfamiliar with Sengkang.

Children of different ages need suitable grouping

The five-to-sixteen advertised range is broad. A child’s readiness, coordination and communication skills can differ substantially from an older participant’s.

A qualified instructor should adapt learning appropriately, but the public summary does not guarantee a specific ratio, subgroup or private support worker.

Ask the programme administrator about genuine class arrangements rather than invent an adult-to-child ratio.

Parents can support nervous beginners

Some children may feel unsure about a new sport, unfamiliar coach or mixing with people they have not met. A positive introduction can explain the venue, activities and equipment without demanding instant excellence.

The child can ask for help when a drill is confusing. Encouragement should focus on participation and learning rather than comparing them with the most experienced person in the class.

A short camp can be worthwhile even when the learner decides to pursue another sport afterward.

A November camp can fit a varied holiday

The 8:30am–10am morning schedule leaves other time for family plans, but it also requires an early journey to Sengkang on three consecutive days.

Some households may have work, sibling care or overseas travel conflicts. Missing one day can reduce the value of an otherwise short course.

Read cancellation and attendance conditions before committing to the complete programme.

Payment terms need direct verification

The public hockey page lists prices and SHP60 offset eligibility, but the actual product determines any refund, transfer or rescheduling conditions. A cancelled session has different implications from personal absence.

Parents should keep their accepted registration record and ask the authorised organiser about a real change. An unrelated court booking policy may not apply.

Do not promise automatic replacement lessons or a full refund without an actual published term.

The weather can affect an outdoor pitch

Outdoor hockey can be affected by rain, lightning, haze or pitch maintenance. The official operator may suspend activity and communicate an adjusted plan when safety requires it.

A paid class does not justify continuing in hazardous conditions. Children should not be asked to practise on unsafe surfaces just to complete the schedule.

Follow NEA and organiser directions rather than an old calendar screenshot.

Coach qualifications matter more than publicity

ActiveSG’s programme partnership framework requires relevant technical qualifications, first aid, Safe Sport and activity risk assessments for its instructors. The actual organiser is responsible for appropriate delivery.

Parents may reasonably ask about the named coach, supervision and concerns procedure. A professional-looking poster is not enough to establish every aspect of safety.

Use official registration and a legitimate administrator rather than an unofficial person offering a paid place.

A beginner should not practise with an unsafe stick

A child who enjoys the camp may want to practise at home, but hockey sticks and balls can create hazards near others, fragile property or narrow residential paths.

Not every Punggol outdoor area is a suitable playing pitch. A casual open space may have restrictions and other users.

Choose an appropriate lawful training venue and follow safe techniques rather than attempt powerful shots along shared paths.

Three-day sport can teach courtesy

Waiting for turns, returning equipment and listening to teammates can be meaningful learning alongside ball control. These behaviours are especially relevant when children share a large equipment supply.

A participant need not win a match to learn patience and respect. An encouraging coach can model how to respond appropriately to mistakes.

Sport is most valuable when children feel comfortable returning for another session.

No future-year camp is automatically confirmed

The 25–27 November programme belongs to 2026. The SportSG page does not establish the identical dates, prices or age bands for 2027 or 2028.

A child who is five now could be older and interested in a different level by the later year. The available coaching centres may also change.

Use the new year’s official School Holiday Programme listing when planning another registration.

Boon Lay is a separate holiday venue

The same official school holiday page names Hockey Village at Boon Lay for 27–29 November, from 8:30am to 10am each morning. This may be suitable for another Singapore household but is not the Sengkang camp.

Families should not select the wrong registration product simply because both are Hockey Academy sessions. The actual venue can have major implications for travel, care and attendance.

Compare genuine options instead of assuming all dates refer to the same pitch.

Delta offers another 27–29 November option

The SportSG table also identifies Delta Hockey Pitch for a three-day camp on 27–29 November, with the same morning time window. Delta is at 900 Tiong Bahru Road, outside the Punggol estate.

Delta is also the venue of the 2026 ActiveSG Cup Hockey, but the holiday camp is a different product with different learning and registration responsibilities.

A child joining a camp at Delta does not automatically enter the Cup competition there.

Jurong Town has an earlier run

Another official option is ActiveSG Sport Village at Jurong Town, 23–25 November from 8:30am to 10am. This is an alternative for families whose dates differ from the Sengkang run.

Each site may have a separate registration link, available places and minimum enrolment, despite sharing the broad Hockey Academy programme.

A Punggol household should choose a destination it can actually reach consistently on all three mornings.

Four named national options do not mean unlimited access

The Hockey Academy page identifies Sengkang, Delta, Boon Lay and Jurong Town for this particular holiday edition. This is a set of named programmes, not an exhaustive promise about all hockey venues nationwide.

An additional community club or school may offer separate hockey instruction, but it should not be presented as part of the official ActiveSG holiday camp without evidence.

Use exact SportSG course links for official registration.

Registration should use the child’s proper profile

The MyActiveSG+ platform can require a parent to register or link a minor’s profile. The name and age used for the course should reflect the actual participant, not whichever family account has the most convenient settings.

A mismatch could affect eligibility, credit use or check-in. Parents should protect login credentials and avoid sending them to unofficial coaching agents.

Complete legitimate booking and retain the confirmation.

An advertised camp may be full

The public programme page can remain online even after individual session inventory is sold out. The correct question is whether the actual Sengkang product shows a valid place available.

A programme with a five-person starting minimum may also have a maximum class size controlled by the operator. Neither figure guarantees an opening for an additional child.

Check current MyActiveSG+ availability before paying for transport or buying specialist shoes.

A coach should explain the playing surface

Hockey training can depend on the actual pitch material and its condition. The instructor’s preparation instructions are more authoritative for footwear than a generic online list.

A family can bring appropriate running or turf shoes under the published guidance, but may still need to follow site-specific instructions during wet weather.

Avoid rigid claims that every pitch uses the same surface or shoe rule.

Children should understand safe stick spacing

A hockey stick creates a larger movement zone than a tennis racket held close to the body. A beginner benefits from learning how far to stand from teammates and when to stop swinging.

A coach may use simple controlled drills before introducing crowded game play. A parent should not make a child perform powerful striking demonstrations near other people.

The aim is safe familiarity, not an impressive video.

Some learners may prefer quiet instruction

An energetic mixed-age sports environment can feel exciting for some children and overwhelming for others. Parents can discuss actual communication or sensory needs privately with the organiser before registration.

A national holiday brochure does not establish a dedicated sensory-friendly session or a specialist support worker. Appropriate accommodation depends on the actual venue and provider.

Ask specific, respectful questions rather than assume unlimited support.

Hockey encourages spatial awareness

In addition to stick handling, a player learns to notice where teammates, opponents and safe playing space are located. These skills develop gradually through supervised practice, not simply by watching a match.

A three-day introduction may provide examples of these decisions without teaching every tactical system. A child can still leave with a clearer understanding of the game.

Allow improvement to be personal and realistic.

A short camp can improve sport discovery

For families unsure which sport to try, an introductory hockey programme may be useful before paying for a longer season. It gives a real experience of equipment, movement and teamwork rather than relying on marketing descriptions.

Some children will decide that they prefer another sport afterward, which is a legitimate outcome of exploration.

The camp’s value is not dependent on purchasing another programme.

The family should discuss illness and cancellation

A child who becomes ill during the three-day camp may be unable to attend all sessions. Refund or replacement arrangements depend on the actual SportSG course terms, not a standard entitlement implied by this article.

Parents should inform the organiser appropriately, follow health guidance and avoid sending an unwell child to complete a purchased package.

Read the actual transaction conditions before booking.

A guardian should confirm the pickup location

Sengkang Hockey Pitch 1 is a specific playing area; the building’s general address may not be the precise gathering point. Young children need a clear supervised handover before and after each ninety-minute session.

A family can ask staff where participants report, whether a parent remains nearby and when dismissal happens. Do not infer a childcare service from a sport holiday product.

A correct pickup plan protects the child and avoids unnecessary confusion.

The surrounding centre has other services

Sengkang Sport Centre provides other recreational facilities under their own operating and payment rules. A child enrolled in a hockey camp does not automatically receive free entry to the gym or swimming pool.

Parents may plan additional family activity only if it is suitable, independently available and legitimately booked. A class fee cannot be assumed to cover unrelated spaces.

Keep products and operator conditions separate.

SHP60 usage may be partial

A government credit programme can reduce eligible costs under its current conditions, but the wallet amount and allowable offset are account-specific. A printed reference to SHP60 is not proof of zero checkout cost.

Parents should examine the actual amount due and any credit expiry or eligibility requirements before confirming the purchase.

Do not share a screenshot containing sensitive account details in a public parent group.

Coaches need a fair group environment

A child can learn more effectively when mistakes are explained rather than mocked. Responsible instructors should manage group size and provide age-appropriate feedback, especially when a wide age range attends.

Parents may ask about how beginners and older children are grouped without demanding private information about other learners.

Safe Sport principles apply to respectful communication as well as physical safety.

The camp is not school admission

An ActiveSG Hockey Academy course can introduce a sport, while a school CCA is administered through the child’s school and may involve separate selection and timetables. The two can complement one another without being identical.

A holiday camp certificate, if any is provided, is not automatic admission to a school hockey team.

The school teacher remains the proper source for CCA options.

Development centre is a later possibility

SportSG’s Hockey Academy provides invite-only development pathways under distinct criteria. A learner may wish to explore those after developing interest and skill, but no automatic progression follows a camp booking.

Parents should avoid promises of scholarships, national selection or coaching careers based on a short introduction.

Genuine long-term sporting growth depends on continued interest, appropriate support and actual available opportunities.

The 2027 edition should be checked afresh

For the next school holiday cycle, a child will be older and may prefer a different level of coaching. The operator can adjust camp dates, venues, prices or equipment terms.

Use the new official School Holiday Programme page instead of automatically repeating 25–27 November or a S$54 member fee.

This protects families from making travel plans around expired information.

The 2028 edition could use other venues

By 2028, SportSG may introduce a different northeast hockey site or revise programme delivery. A new location should be described as confirmed only when the actual organiser posts a registration product.

Punggol Sport Centre’s new facilities do not prove a hockey camp will run there in that future year.

A useful guide remains grounded in named current offers and honest uncertainty.
