For a newly completed Punggol HDB flat, report items needing rectification through HDB’s online route or the Building Service Centre serving the precinct. HDB states that the one-year Defects Liability Period starts from key collection.
HDB advises reporting items within one month of key collection and before renovation begins. Treat that as a prompt to inspect and report early, not as a statement that the entire one-year DLP ends after a month.
Prepare a room-by-room list with photographs and precise locations. A report such as “Bedroom 2, wall beside the window, visible crack” is easier to discuss than “many defects”; keep the submission reference and clarify the inspection arrangements.

Establish the correct date and reporting route
Keep your key-collection record available and locate the official BSC details for your own precinct. A neighbouring Punggol project may use a different centre or contractor.
Use HDB’s current rectification page to reach the reporting process. This guide does not operate a reporting form or collect identity details on behalf of HDB.
Record the original condition
Inspect before renovation changes surfaces, fittings or access. Photograph both the wider room location and the item you want assessed, without damaging finishes to test them.
Keep a numbered list so you can refer to each item during follow-up. Describe the observation and let the responsible team determine whether it is a defect requiring rectification.
Coordinate access and follow-up
Confirm who will attend any inspection and how access will be arranged. HDB advises against handing your flat keys to the contractor for rectification work.
Ask which items are accepted for work, which need further assessment and what the next step is. A submitted report is not proof that every listed item has been approved for repair.
Keep unresolved items visible
Check the completed work and retain the record of any outstanding issue. If a symptom recurs, identify the original item, repair date and new observation in your follow-up.
After the one-year DLP, HDB’s guidance says owners may engage a repair contractor and approach their HDB Branch if further assistance is needed. Other warranty questions require case-specific confirmation. Our Punggol renovation guide covers the wider planning process.
