After a traffic accident in Punggol, attend to immediate safety and urgent assistance first. Once safe, use SPF’s traffic-accident guidance to check whether a police accident report is required. Do not assume every minor collision follows the same reporting route.
SPF requires an accident report for specified circumstances, including fatality, qualifying injuries, government-property damage, a foreign vehicle, a pedestrian or cyclist, or hit-and-run. Read the full injury criteria on its page; the presence or absence of visible vehicle damage does not answer the question.
Police reporting and insurer reporting are separate. SPF says accidents outside its listed police-report criteria still require parties to exchange particulars and report to their respective insurers under the Motor Claims Framework. Contact your insurer promptly for its current reporting instructions.

Use the complete official criteria · Prepare a factual account · Use the police accident-report route when required · Contact the insurer separately
Use the complete official criteria
SPF’s injury criteria include ambulance transport from the scene to hospital or outpatient medical leave of at least three days for an injured party.
If a circumstance is unclear or develops after the incident, seek guidance rather than assuming the initial impression settles the requirement.
Prepare a factual account
Keep the date, time, location, involved vehicles, relevant party details and a short description of what happened. Preserve safely obtained photographs and witness information.
Separate what you personally saw from what someone told you. Do not speculate about fault or change the account to match an anticipated insurance outcome.
Use the police accident-report route when required
SPF provides an online Traffic Accident Report route requiring Singpass and an email address, with police-station reporting as an alternative.
A routine report form is not an emergency channel. Seek urgent help when the circumstances require it instead of waiting to finish an online submission.
Contact the insurer separately
Ask your insurer about reporting, vehicle assessment and the records required, and follow the applicable deadlines. Retain both insurer and police references where relevant.
Do not assume a private settlement or police report automatically completes the insurance process. This guide does not determine liability or a claim outcome.
