Taking a stroller on a public bus in Punggol? SBS Transit’s guidance allows open strollers, with a general size guide of up to 1.2 metres long and 70 centimetres wide. Space and safe boarding still matter; be ready to fold the stroller or wait for another bus when directed.
For a Punggol family bus trip, keep the stroller on the lower deck and out of aisles and doorways. Wheelchair users have priority in the designated wheelchair space. An open-stroller allowance is not a guarantee that every arriving bus has room.
Plan how you will manage the child, stroller and bags before reaching the stop. Follow the Bus Captain’s instructions, apply the stroller’s brakes when positioned and keep hold of it. Do not treat a parked stroller as something that can be left unattended while the bus moves.

Prepare for folding if needed
Keep essentials in a bag you can manage without unloading several loose items. Practise folding at home so the process is familiar before a busy stop.
If travelling alone, consider whether you can safely hold your child and manage the folded stroller. Allow time to wait rather than rushing a difficult boarding.
Ask before using an alternative door
SBS Transit’s guidance says to board through the front where possible and alert the Bus Captain if rear-door boarding is needed. Follow the instructions for the particular bus.
Do not assume the ramp will be deployed for an ordinary stroller. Speak to the Bus Captain if assistance is needed.
Keep access clear
Use the designated space as instructed and give way when a wheelchair user needs it. Do not take a stroller onto the upper deck or stairs.
Check that bags and handles do not obstruct other passengers. Keep the child supervised throughout the journey.
Prepare to alight calmly
Know your stop before boarding and signal in time. Organise bags before the bus stops without leaving the stroller unattended.
If the kerb or landing space makes alighting difficult, ask for help. A few extra moments are preferable to trying to manoeuvre while distracted.
