Helping someone who appears lost at a Punggol transport location? Approach station or interchange staff rather than leaving the person to navigate alone. LTA says MRT and LRT stations, bus interchanges and integrated transport hubs serve as Dementia Go-To Points.
These transport Go-To Points provide a staff-assisted route for people who are lost and unable to find their way home. LTA describes them as safe-return points with trained staff helping to reconnect people with family or caregivers.
Appearing confused does not establish that someone has dementia. Explain what you observed without diagnosing them. If the person is injured, acutely unwell or in immediate danger, seek emergency assistance instead of treating the situation as an ordinary wayfinding problem.

Start with a calm offer of help
Ask whether the person would like assistance and avoid surrounding them with several people or demanding a detailed explanation.
Keep the conversation simple. Do not photograph them for a public neighbourhood appeal without considering privacy and consent.
Bring the issue to transport staff
Tell station or interchange staff where you met the person and why you are concerned. If it is safe and the person agrees, accompany them to the staff point.
If they cannot move safely, ask staff to come to the location. Do not force them to walk through a crowded area or across a road.
Share only relevant observations
Explain the apparent difficulty, any stated destination and any immediate safety concern. Let trained staff guide the next steps.
Do not search private belongings or circulate identity information publicly. Hand over relevant information through the appropriate staff or emergency channel.
Use the experience to improve a family plan
For a relative who needs travel support, discuss suitable accompaniment, accessible contact information and familiar routes with them and their care team.
A Go-To Point is a help route, not a promise of continuous supervision. Plan the support required before a journey rather than relying on eventual rescue.
