Design Factory@SIT is a research studio for design-led innovation, working with industry and community collaborators. Its published space is at SIT Campus Heart, 11 New Punggol Road, Singapore 828616, room W3-05-05-SR29.
For Design Factory@SIT collaboration enquiries, email designfactory@singaporetech.edu.sg. The official Design Factory page names Punggol Coast MRT alongside its location; ask for confirmed arrival instructions for an arranged meeting.
Services include design consultancy, identifying user needs, project scoping and co-creation. The studio is not advertised as a public craft drop-in venue: a project highlight, hackathon or workshop photograph does not establish an open booking for every visitor.

Start with people and their needs
Design Factory@SIT describes user-centred methods, creative exploration and rapid prototyping. Its expertise includes service, industrial, participatory and communication design, along with facilitation and training.
For practical planning, explain who experiences the problem and when it occurs. A confusing sign-up journey, for example, needs an account of the user’s steps and difficulties. Asking only for a more attractive screen may leave the original problem unresolved.
What Punggol projects show
Published highlights include participatory work for the Punggol Digital District mural and the People of PDD digital activation. These show how the studio has explored community identity and public-space experiences.
A past project can help you describe an idea, but its format should not be assumed to be available on request. Ask which approach fits your audience, what participation would involve and how a proposed outcome could be evaluated.
Prepare a collaboration conversation
Share the situation, intended users, desired change and constraints in a short enquiry. You do not need to present a finished design to begin discussing a challenge. Distinguish what you know from assumptions you want to test.
If you represent a school or community group, specify the audience and purpose. Ask about suitability, facilitation, participant numbers and any requirements before planning attendance or promising an activity to families.
Confirm the room and project scope
Use the room code supplied by your host when visiting; a general campus map is only orientation. Confirm the meeting time and access arrangements rather than treating a published address as walk-in permission.
Before commissioning a project, agree on deliverables, fees, timing and use of resulting material. Read our Campus Heart and Campus Court guide if you need help distinguishing the two campus areas.
Independent local guide by eduKatePunggol. Information checked on 14 October 2026. Confirm current arrangements with SIT before commissioning work, registering or visiting.
