The Coast-to-Coast Trail gives Punggol a place in a much bigger walking story. NParks describes the Central trail as a 36 km route between Jurong Lake Gardens and Coney Island Park.
You do not need to walk across Singapore to enjoy its northeastern end. Choose a verified local section around your intended destination, then plan the approach and journey home separately.
For a Punggol visit, the important distinction is between seeing Coney Island, walking a local section and completing the whole trail. All can be worthwhile, but they are very different commitments.

The official Coast-to-Coast Trail page identifies the Central trail and provides its online trail guide. Use that guide to locate the section you intend to follow.
The 36 km figure describes the cross-island trail, not a Punggol circuit. Your chosen section and the journeys to and from it need their own distance check.
If you are planning a complete crossing, prepare a separate itinerary with breaks and exit options. Do not extrapolate a comfortable short park walk into a full-day endurance plan.
Some trail-page wording still mentions the NParks Explore A Route mobile app. However, the dedicated NParks app page states that NEAR was decommissioned on 24 April 2026.
Use the online trail guide and the interactive island-wide route map linked from the NParks NEAR decommissioning page instead of relying on the app.
Before leaving, identify the actual paths and junctions in your selected section. Keep enough information available to navigate without repeatedly standing in the middle of a shared path.
Check the official Coney Island Park page when the island is part of your outing. NParks lists opening hours of 7am to 7pm.
The park has West and East entrances, and some interior terrain is rugged. An accessible approach to an entrance does not mean every interior section suits every stroller or mobility need.
Allow time to leave before closing, and follow designated trails. A late arrival at the northeastern end is not a reason to press on into a longer island walk.
Pick one arrival point, one main section and one exit plan. That is enough structure for a satisfying first visit, especially when walking with children.
Our Coney Island walking guide helps distinguish an island itinerary from the approach outside it.
Bring water, check the forecast and current notices, and shorten the outing when necessary. A small part of a big trail can still be a complete day out.
