Punggol parents who want to request a higher preschool subsidy should approach their preschool about reassessment. ECDA identifies changes in family circumstances as a reason to submit Form 2, the Subsidy Update and Special Approval Application.
Examples include a significant drop in household income due to employment or income changes, or a change in family composition or marital status. Explain what changed and when it happened.
If you submitted the application and received the outcome recently, ECDA also says you may ask the preschool for an income reassessment. A request needs assessment; do not budget for a higher amount before receiving the result.
In this guide
CHAPTER 1 OF 4
Identify your reason for review
Start with a short factual description of the change or the income figure you want checked. Keep the original application outcome available.
The ECDA guidance on requesting higher subsidy sets out the family-change and recent-outcome routes.
CHAPTER 2 OF 4
Ask which route applies
For changed family circumstances, ask the preschool how to submit Form 2. For a recent outcome, explain that you are requesting an income reassessment.
ECDA’s answer does not specify a universal number of days for “recent”. Give the application and outcome dates and ask the centre which process applies to your situation.
CHAPTER 3 OF 4
Prepare a clear record
Ask which supporting documents are needed for the reason you give. Use accurate dates and figures, and identify any details you need help checking.
A practical enquiry could read: “Our household circumstances changed on this date. Which reassessment form and documents should we provide?” Keep sensitive documents within the official process.
CHAPTER 4 OF 4
Follow up on the decision
Ask how you will receive the reassessment result and whether the centre needs more information. Keep a copy of what you submitted.
Once an outcome is available, ask the centre to explain its effect on your bill. Confirm the applicable amount and period before changing your family’s payment plan.
Information checked on 12 October 2026. Follow the current official instructions and the guidance given for your child’s application.
