If household income or another FAS eligibility circumstance changes, notify your child’s current school in writing and ask what information it needs. Do this whether an application is pending or assistance has already been approved.
Current published MOE FAS criteria for government and government-aided schools use gross household income up to $4,000 per month or per-capita income up to $1,000 per month. The school should assess the current circumstances; a change in one payslip does not by itself determine the outcome.
Punggol parents should explain what changed, when it changed and which application or approval is involved. This guide helps you prepare a clear update without guessing income-assessment rules or silently assuming the existing assistance stays the same.
CHAPTER 1 OF 5
Identify the change precisely
Write a short timeline: a job ended, working hours changed, a household member’s circumstances changed or income increased. Separate the effective date from the date you first contacted school.
Use the current MOE scheme information and your approval conditions. Avoid relying on an older form with previous income thresholds.
CHAPTER 2 OF 5
Notify the school in writing
Bartley Secondary’s published 2026 criteria state that the current school must be told in writing about changes to the listed eligibility criteria. They also explain the current income thresholds.
Ask your school which secure channel and reference to use. Include the child’s details as requested and identify whether this concerns a pending application or an existing approval.
CHAPTER 3 OF 5
Provide the requested evidence
Make a checklist from the school’s actual request. If a document is unavailable, explain that and ask what alternative evidence is acceptable.
Do not assume income is assessed only from the most recent take-home pay or that unemployment immediately makes the assessed income zero. Ask how the current application instructions treat your situation.
CHAPTER 4 OF 5
Clarify the effect on existing support
Ask whether a reassessment is required, whether any further action is outstanding and how an outcome will be communicated. Obtain the effective date of any confirmed change.
Keep school fees, meals and transport arrangements clear while the update is considered. If the family faces an immediate difficulty, explain that separately and ask what practical support can be discussed.
CHAPTER 5 OF 5
Keep the adult paperwork organised
Save the written update, documents submitted and school’s response together. If more than one child is involved, ask the handling school how the information should be coordinated.
Our FAS application and tracking guide covers the original process. Give the child only the practical information needed for school, while the adults handle the financial assessment.
Information checked on 11 October 2026. Follow the current official and school instructions for your child’s individual arrangements.
