If you move to or from Punggol with a licensed cat or dog, update the address where the pet is kept through the AVS Pet Animal Licensing System, PALS. AVS requires notification within 28 days when that address changes.

Treat your Punggol moving checklist as including a separate pet-record task. Open the existing licence record and check the pet’s details, registered address and licence type. Do not assume that completing other household address changes has finished the AVS task.

The pet’s licensed address and permission to keep it at the premises are separate checks. AVS states that a licence does not itself approve pet ownership at that home; check applicable HDB or estate-management requirements before finalising your move.

Keep the licence information and new address together with your moving paperwork. Use the official PALS link from AVS and follow its current user guide for the address-change process.

Set a family reminder with one person responsible for completing the update. This reduces the chance that everyone assumes another household member has done it.

If ownership changes, AVS provides a separate licence-transfer process on PALS. The current licensee initiates it, and the proposed new licensee accepts or rejects the transfer.

A move with the same owner and a rehoming arrangement are different tasks. Decide which situation applies before selecting a transaction, particularly when family members are moving to different homes.

Check whether renewal is due while reviewing the licence. AVS allows renewal up to eight weeks before expiry; a one-time licence does not require renewal.

Then organise the practical move: a secure carrier, a quiet arrival area and a clear handover between adults. Put pet supplies somewhere accessible rather than in a box that will be opened days later.
