Punggol Town Council’s complimentary bulky-refuse service covers three movable household items per month per unit for eligible HDB flats under Punggol GRC. It does not include dismantling, house removals, renovation waste or built-in furniture such as kitchen cabinets and wardrobes.
The published collection schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2pm to 4pm, excluding public holidays. The page asks residents to contact the council three to five days before collection, while its terms require booking at least three working days before the designated removal time. Confirm availability before arranging your clear-out.
For Punggol bulky-item disposal, describe each piece accurately and obtain an appointment through the council’s official form or contact channel. A furniture set can count as more than one item. Do not leave an old sofa or wardrobe in a common area while assuming an unconfirmed collection will happen.

Make an item list before booking
List the individual pieces you want removed, with their approximate size and condition. A photograph can help you explain an unusually shaped item, but it should support a clear written description rather than replace it.
Separate items you can pass on from items that need disposal. If a usable piece has a potential recipient, agree its collection arrangements first. An unconfirmed donation should not leave you without a plan when the new furniture arrives.

Confirm the appointment and preparation
Ask the council to confirm eligibility, the item count, the collection date and how the items should be prepared. Its published terms say items are to be outside the flat on the appointed date. Ask how to do this without obstructing access.
If you are unsure whether an item is within the team’s capacity, clarify before booking. Do not dismantle something unstable or handle an appliance beyond your ability simply to make it look eligible. Arrange appropriate professional help where needed.

Leave enough time between booking and delivery to resolve any item that the service cannot take. The old item’s removal and the new item’s delivery are separate appointments; one does not automatically include the other.
Ask the retailer whether removal of the old item is part of its service and what conditions apply. If you use that option, confirm the item, charge and timing in writing so that nobody arrives expecting a different arrangement.

When the council service is not the right option
For a move, renovation or built-in furniture, arrange a suitable removal contractor rather than planning around the complimentary household service. Describe the work honestly when obtaining a quote.
Check what the quotation includes: dismantling if needed, carrying, transport and disposal. A low transport price may not cover the complete job. Keep the agreed scope and receipt so that any disagreement is easier to resolve.

Before the appointment, clear the route within your home and keep children and pets away from the work area. Discuss heavy or awkward pieces with the people handling them rather than expecting a last-minute lift through a narrow doorway.
Follow the confirmed instructions about placement and timing. Do not block corridors, doors or shared facilities. If an item cannot be placed as instructed without causing a problem, contact the council to agree another arrangement.

If collection plans change
Tell the council promptly if the item has already been taken, your availability changes or the item list is different. A booking for three small pieces should not quietly become a request for a different furniture set.
For an unrelated estate cleanliness problem, use the Punggol OneService reporting guide. A municipal report is separate from arranging collection of your own bulky items.
