If you missed MOE Kindergarten registration, contact the preferred MK and check its current late-application or waitlist route. Punggol families should identify the admission year and whether the child needs K1 or direct K2 entry before completing a form.
MK@Horizon’s published instructions provide a local example: late applications are considered if places remain after the initial allocation, and families may be waitlisted if no place is available. Its page also gives a route for 2027 K2 applicants.
A waitlist submission is not a confirmed kindergarten place. This guide explains what to check, how to keep an existing preschool arrangement workable and which questions to ask about session and care if an offer becomes available.

Understand what the waitlist means
CHAPTER 1 OF 5
Choose the right year and level
Write down the child’s date of birth, intended start year and current preschool level. Ask the MK which admission route applies if the level is unclear.
Do not copy the birth-date range from an old registration notice. A page about one year’s K1 admissions does not automatically describe the next year or direct K2 entry.
CHAPTER 2 OF 5
Use the preferred MK’s current route
MK@Horizon’s registration page explains late applications and links its waitlist. Read the current instructions before opening the form.
Punggol Green MK’s forms page also lists a waitlist application. These are centre-specific routes; use the form for the MK you actually want.
CHAPTER 3 OF 5
Understand what the waitlist means
MK@Horizon says it will contact families if a vacancy arises. Ask your preferred MK how it will communicate an offer and whether any information needs updating while you wait.
Save the submission acknowledgement and contact details you supplied. Avoid treating an acknowledgement, an enquiry response and a confirmed admission offer as interchangeable.
CHAPTER 4 OF 5
Keep the current care arrangement workable
Before withdrawing from another preschool, check the status of the MK application and the current provider’s notice requirements. Ask both providers about dates if a possible transition overlaps.
Consider the whole day, including care before or after kindergarten and collection. A potential class place should not be assumed to resolve every childcare need.
CHAPTER 5 OF 5
Check the details of an actual offer
If contacted about a place, clarify the level, admission year, session, start date and any response deadline. Ask separately about the care arrangement needed by your family.
Once confirmed, plan the child’s transition calmly and share the new routine with caregivers. Our MOE Kindergarten overview explains the broader setting; individual admission questions belong with the MK.
