Samudera LRT station opened for passenger service on Friday, 31 March 2017. The PW4 station was another step in the phased opening of the Punggol West LRT Loop, with SBS Transit highlighting improved access to Marina Country Club.
Samudera’s opening left Teck Lee as the West Loop’s remaining unopened station. For searches about Samudera station history and Punggol LRT development, that distinction explains why 2017 was an important milestone without being the end of the opening sequence.
The contemporary SBS Transit announcement mentioned kindergartens, leisure and dining facilities at Marina Country Club. It places the station in the everyday geography of families, rather than treating it only as a dot on a rail map.

1. What the new stop was intended to serve
A rail connection can bring several kinds of journey together: taking a child to kindergarten, meeting someone for a meal or visiting a recreation facility. These were the sorts of destinations identified in the opening announcement.
That is a helpful way to interpret local transport history. Ask what a new stop made easier to reach, then examine the walking connections between the platform and the destination.

2. The historical direction arrangement
SBS Transit said the existing one-direction-at-a-time arrangement would continue. Trains departed the town centre towards Sam Kee before 3pm; later in the day, they travelled the opposite way, starting with Soo Teck.
Use that dated operating arrangement when reconstructing a 2017 journey; a present-day map cannot tell you how trains ran in an earlier year.

3. A nearly complete West Loop
Read Samudera alongside the 2014 West Loop opening. The two milestones show a network becoming available in stages.
For a school project, draw a timeline with a separate entry for each station’s passenger opening. Keep a second line for operating changes, such as direction or train capacity. This makes it easier to explain what changed on a given date without merging several years of development into one event.
