Foreign students in MOE schools can receive dental care at the Student Dental Centre if they are referred by their school dental clinic and pay non-resident rates. These are the conditions stated in HPB’s current guidance.
For an international family living in Punggol, start by speaking with the child’s school dental clinic. HPB says most dental care can be provided at the school clinic or through the mobile dental service.
Do not assume that a general online appointment instruction removes the referral condition for foreign students. Check your child’s eligibility, referral and expected charges before arranging a Student Dental Centre visit.

CHAPTER 1 OF 4
Check the school and student status
The HPB foreign-student dental FAQ specifically addresses foreign students in MOE schools. If your child attends another type of school, ask HPB which service and conditions apply.
Keep the child’s school details available when making the enquiry. Describe the actual situation rather than assuming all students in Singapore use the same route.
CHAPTER 2 OF 4
Start with the school dental clinic
Ask whether the child’s dental concern can be addressed through the school clinic or mobile service. If a referral is needed, clarify what happens next.
Confirm whether an appointment has been arranged or whether your family must take another booking step. A discussion about referral should not be treated as an appointment confirmation.
CHAPTER 3 OF 4
Confirm the applicable charges
HPB’s eligibility guidance says foreign students pay non-resident rates. Consult the current SHC and SDC fees guide and ask the centre about the services expected at your child’s visit.
A fee for one procedure is not a complete quotation for a visit involving several services. Ask what the estimate includes and which payment methods are accepted.
CHAPTER 4 OF 4
Prepare for the confirmed visit
Read the appointment instructions, verify the venue and arrange an accompanying adult where required. Coordinate with the school if attendance or collection will be affected.
Plan the journey from Punggol using the confirmed appointment location. Keep the referral information and any follow-up instructions together so the family can manage the next stage clearly.
Information checked on 11 October 2026. Follow HPB’s current instructions and the guidance given for your child’s appointment or care arrangements.
