Punggol Library at One Punggol now lists early access from 9am–10am, followed by its regular 10am–9pm hours. NLB states that staff-assisted services begin at 10am. If you are planning a morning visit, distinguish entering early from needing help at a service counter.
The Level 3 Study Zone has a separate schedule: 9am–10pm daily, including public holidays and the eves of Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year. NLB directs visitors to this zone through Lift Lobby B of One Punggol. Its longer hours do not mean the whole library remains open until 10pm.
The main library closes at 5pm on those three holiday eves and is closed on public holidays under NLB’s published arrangement. Check the official library page and any current notices before travelling, especially if you need a specific service, programme or study seat.

Three times to distinguish
The official NLB Punggol Library page is the source for the current timetable. Plan around early access, staff-assisted service hours and the separate Study Zone rather than using one opening time for everything.
If your purpose is a quiet hour before the day begins, early access may fit your plan. If you need staff assistance, arrange the visit for the stated service period. Check the instructions for your intended service before assuming it is available during the early hour.
| Purpose | Time to check |
|---|---|
| Early library access | 9am–10am |
| Regular library visit | 10am–9pm; holiday exceptions apply |
| Staff-assisted services | From 10am |
| Level 3 Study Zone | 9am–10pm daily; separate access |
Finding the Study Zone
Use the Study Zone access instructions rather than trying to enter through a closed main-library entrance. Save the Lift Lobby B direction before travelling. If you are unfamiliar with One Punggol, allow time to find the correct lobby.
For a booked seat, keep the confirmation and seat details accessible and follow the current booking and arrival requirements. This article does not promise a particular seat will be available. Check NLB’s current seat-booking route before organising a long study session.
Agree pickup arrangements if a teenager will study there independently. A clear collection point is more useful than a message saying only “outside the library”.
Public holidays and holiday eves
The difference between the main library and Study Zone matters most on a public holiday. Do not plan to browse shelves or use staff-assisted services simply because the separate zone is open. Match your planned activity to the part of the building that is operating.
Check the date, the specific area and any temporary notice together. An event listing, room booking or collection service can have its own timing. If an essential task remains unclear, verify it with NLB before leaving home.
Plan a useful study session
Choose one main task before arriving: completing a practice paper, reviewing corrections or reading a chapter with notes. Pack the materials needed for that task. A quieter location helps, but the student still benefits from knowing what to do first.
Use a manageable work period and a clear finishing check. For example, a student correcting mathematics work can identify the error, redo the question and explain the corrected method. This makes the visit useful without measuring success only by hours spent seated.
Keep breaks and conversations appropriate for a shared study environment. Leave enough time to pack up and make the journey home without rushing.
Visiting One Punggol
See our One Punggol directions, parking and meeting-point guide for the journey. For children’s spaces and a broader visit, use the Punggol Regional Library guide, while checking NLB’s current hours above.
Build the visit around its purpose. A family browsing trip, a registered workshop and a student’s independent study session require different preparation. Confirm programme registration or seat arrangements separately from the building’s opening hours.
