When Should Tuition Become Less Frequent? | Maintenance, Independence and the Taper Back to School

Good tuition should not only know when to increase support. It should know when to give learning back.

A weak link is repaired. School becomes steadier. The child needs fewer prompts. Fresh questions no longer reopen the same old error.

At this point, continuing exactly the same tuition dose can become unnecessary.

The next educational job may be maintenance, fortnightly review, independent learning with a later checkpoint, or no tuition at all.

The Parent Route

  • Reduce frequency when the original target is stable across more than one context.

  • Use delayed retests before declaring a repair complete.

If evidence can justify more tuition, evidence should also be allowed to justify less.
