Prediction Preserves the Original Model
If the strongest student speaks first, the other two may adopt the answer before the tutor sees what they actually believed. Silent first predictions preserve diagnostic evidence.

One Shared Investigation
The group then observes the same evidence: a diagram, table, graph, experiment or video of a phenomenon. The tutor separates observation from interpretation and asks which prediction survives.
