Why preserve an old examination timetable?
A timetable is usually disposable information. Once the examination year passes, the dates are no longer operational.
But an old timetable can still be useful as historical evidence. It shows how PSLE was structured at a particular point in time, which subjects were scheduled together, how long papers lasted, what old terminology was in use and how the examination system has changed.
The correct treatment is therefore not to silently replace 2015 with 2026. It is to preserve 2015 as 2015 and clearly route current readers to current SEAB information.

What else the original 2015 page linked to
The original article also directed parents to SEAB information about:
- PSLE syllabuses;
- certificates and statements of results;
- frequently asked questions;
- approved calculators;
- approved dictionaries;
- the expected results-release window.
Some of those old URLs have since changed. The current SEAB website should be used for all operational matters.
The largest change since 2015: the scoring system
In 2015, PSLE results were still reported using the old T-score system. From 2021, Singapore moved to the Achievement Level system.
Under the current system, each Standard subject receives an Achievement Level from AL1 to AL8, and the four subject ALs are added to produce the overall PSLE Score.
This was not merely a change of arithmetic. MOE introduced wider achievement bands partly to reduce overly fine differentiation between students based on small mark differences.
Secondary posting has changed too
Students who sat PSLE in 2015 entered a system still organised around the old Express, Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) streams.
From the 2024 Secondary 1 cohort, Posting Groups and Full Subject-Based Banding replaced that fixed streaming structure. Students can take subjects at different G1, G2 and G3 levels according to their strengths, interests and learning needs.
This makes a historical timetable useful for understanding not only dates but the wider system that surrounded the examination.
Current 2026 PSLE context
SEAB’s 2026 materials list the current PSLE examination formats and candidate dates. The current PSLE still includes English Language, Mathematics, Science and Mother Tongue Language subjects, but formats and administrative details must be checked against the current examination year.
SEAB currently indicates that the 2026 PSLE marking exercise will run from 12–14 October 2026 and that the results-release window is tentatively 24–25 November 2026. These are current-year administrative dates and may be updated by SEAB.
Do not use historical dates for planning
If your child is sitting PSLE now, use:
- the school’s official notices;
- the current SEAB examination timetable;
- the current SEAB subject format;
- the candidate’s official entry information.
A historical article can explain how the system changed. It cannot replace the current examination authority.
What timetable planning teaches students
Even though the dates change, examination scheduling creates a durable planning problem. Students need to work backwards from fixed deadlines.
- Identify the examination date.
- Identify the latest date by which new learning should be mostly complete.
- Reserve time for mixed retrieval and full-paper practice.
- Leave buffer for illness, school workload and weak-topic repair.
- Protect sleep and recovery close to the examination.
This is the same backward-planning principle used in Time Management for Students.
Historical versus current information
Historical fact: the dates and durations recorded above describe PSLE 2015.
Current operational fact: students sitting PSLE in 2026 must use the current SEAB timetable and school instructions.
Keeping those two layers separate is the main purpose of this upgraded archive.
Current official sources
Historical archive: first published 6 May 2015. The original 2015 timetable is preserved as period evidence; the page now clearly distinguishes historical dates from current examination information and explains major structural changes since 2015.
