Shared Book Approach
In the Shared Book Approach, a class works around a common text. The teacher can model fluent reading, draw attention to vocabulary and grammar, ask questions, and use discussion to deepen comprehension.
Modified Language Experience Approach
MLEA begins from a shared experience or common context, then moves through talk into writing. The important mechanism is that students have something concrete to think about before being asked to produce language.
Differentiated Focused Lessons
Focused lessons allow specific grammar, vocabulary, reading or writing weaknesses to be taught more directly instead of assuming every child needs the same repair.
Lower Primary
